Q: What is MonitOff?
A: MonitOff is a small software to turn off your monitor directly from the screen by clicking the mouse or by pressing a determinate key (new for version 1.3).
Q: Why should I use MonitOff?
A: MonitOff let you turn off the monitor whenever you want. i.e.: when you not longer use it or
when you leave your pc unattended.
Q: Why don't use a screen saver?
A: You can use a screen saver but if you don't want to keep wasting electricity and adding
expenses to your electric bill then MonitOff is the answer.
Q: How do I activate it?
A: MonitOff is not free software. But you can use it free (for evaluation purposes for up to 30 consecutive days) You must purchase a license to use it thereafter. To do so click the link
to purchase a license when the program first runs.
After the license purchase we will contact you within the following 24-48hrs with an activation
code.
Q: What do I do with the activation code?
A: Type it or (copy/paste) into the activation code space that shows when you run the program and
press Enter (Return). You only need this code once. Keep the email we sent you or store the
authentication code elsewhere for back up purposes. or get Caracolix Media - SerialX software which
is used to store all the activation codes of the software you purchase. Visit

Q: After it validated it went away? I don't see it.
A: Look to the tray where the clock is. There should be a colorful monitor icon. Mouse over it to
confirm it is MonitOff.
Q: I found it!, what do I do now?
A: Use the left mouse button once (click) over the icon to turn off the monitor. Slightly move
your mouse when you want to turn it back on.
The right mouse button opens a menu with more options.
Q: What is Hold (sec) for?
A: Some people involuntarily moves the mouse after clicking the button. That movement makes the
screen to come back on. The anti shake function lets you set a time interval during which your
computer will blind itself of inputs. In that way if you move the mouse during that period the
monitor will not come back on.
Q: What is the Close option for?
A: This closes the menu if you don't want to select another option because some times it remains open.
Q: Will MonitOff appear on the tray next time I turn on the computer?
A: Yes. It will always be there unless you set it not to load when Windows starts. You can configure this option on the preferences screen..
Q: Is there another way to activate the switch?
A: Now MoniOff version 1.3 has optional keyboard support.
By default the key F2 (function key F2) is the default key to turn the monitor off. (MoniOff must be running)
You can change this key if you want and configure any other function key instead. To do so, open the preferences screen and click on the option Keyboard support (default is off = no keyboard action). The button next to this option should say F2 if you press this button the text will change to the next function key available. (Available does not mean that isn't in use by other applications) Every time you press this button it will cycle between F1 to F12.
Note: F1 is usually used by most programs to open their help documentation and for this reason this key should not be used by MoniOff however the option is enabled for you to decide.
Q: Can I use the same registration in more than one computer?
A: You can if you purchase additional licenses. One license is necessary for each computer the
software is installed in. Any other way is illegal and fully prosecutable by law. Besides of that
our license price is fairly inexpensive and we need your support.
Q: How do I uninstall MonitOff?
A: Use Windows uninstall facility. It is located at the Control Panel.
