This software let you build a database of places you've visited. You can save comments and details of each place
which may be useful for a future visit by you or others.
You can store your records locally on your computer and also you can submit them to our Internet database where
those records become public domain. This means that anybody can consult our database and take advantage of your
submission.
It is up to you to share your records or not. In fact you are not required to share anything you don't want.
If you agree to share, you're to remain anonymous. *
* You can chose a virtual name or alias which will be stored remotely along with each record you submit and an
id code assigned to your computer. This is necessary to store records in our Internet server. But neither your
alias or machine id will be revealed along with your shared records. Your alias will be shown when you post a text
message to the forum. See User screen below.
Please do not use this software as a medium to advertise your business for free. If you do, you will be banned
and your posts deleted.***
Databases are stored in the program's root path, away from hacking attacks. They can be easily transported to other
computers or stored elsewhere for back up. This method also protects the data integrity in case Windows system
gets corrupted which may corrupt other software registration as well. A file with .ppd extension is a IveBeen@
database.
Benefits of sharing
- You can access your records from anywhere in the world with any computer connected to the Internet and without
IveBeen@ software.
- You help to grow IveBeen's public database which in turn will help you with others users experiences.
Note: Access to our Internet database is a privilege given to our users as long as they behave as expected. It
is not a direct part of the software nor it is related in any part with the rights for the use of the software
as described in the license. Access to our Internet servers may be suspended, partially or totally terminated at
any time at our entire discretion and without advice.
Language in the system
* Please use English in your posts to the forum.
* English is the preferred language for shared posts but it is not required.
Using the software
I've Been @ software is very easy to use. It is not populated with millions of settings nor requires any special
configuration.
But yet it is a good idea to get acquainted with a few of it functions.
Ive Been @ screen is separated in three sections:
Edit, View and User
Edit screen
The Edit screen is where you add and replace records. This screen has three control buttons. (The three green squares)
First button from left to right has a plus sign. That button is used to add a record to the database. You need
to press that button with the mouse when you've finished filling up the fields of that form.
The middle green button with a diagonal line is the replace button. When you press this button, the selected entry
(on the View screen) will be replaced by the data on the Edit screen.
The plain green button. First from the right is used to clear all the fields of the Edit screen.
You'll notice a small button next to the Telephone field. Pressing that button let you enter a Fax number in addition
to the Phone number.
All fields but the Place name (Business) are optional.
If there is any other entry you would like us to add, post it as a suggestion. (See how to do it on the User screen)
View screen
Here, on this screen will appear all the records you have entered over time. Commands to this screen are issued
by pressing the right mouse button over the list.
There are three commands available.
Remove, Share and Show Grid.
Use the Remove command to delete any entry. The whole line will be deleted. Note: there is no undo function
once a line is deleted so be careful when choosing your lines to remove.
Share works as the world button located on top of the program's screen. When you press the button
or select the Share command your records will be submitted to our Internet server provided your computer is connected
to the Internet.
Show Grid just separates your entries with a grid for easier view.
User screen
On this screen is presented some important information regarding the software and the user.
If the software can find our Internet server, it will automatically check for a newer version of the software.
Either way it will report the result there.
It will also show here the unique number assigned to your computer. This number is used to store data you submit
anonymously.
The Name/Alias field is used only if you want to post a message to this software forum. On the forum you can suggest
improvements to the software and also report bugs (things the software does but it should not do). **
The Email field is required to register the software when purchasing the required license for the right to use
it.
Registration and licensing.
The Register button will go away after you enter the activation code. Press that button to go to our secure server
where you can purchase a license to use this software forever. This software will expire 15 days after the first
use. Your support is needed and appreciated.
** Do not post urls, Internet addresses, emails or links to other sites. Do not use html tags since they are not
supported by the forum.
*** Any user can be banned to the system at any time at our discretion. Banned users will not be able to post to
the forum or to the public database but they can use the software on their computers as long as it is registered
or is during legal evaluation.
